Pulis: ‘Hurt’ by FA charge
Pulis was fined 10,000 and was warned about his future behaviour after he criticised referee Lee Probert last month in the aftermath of Stoke’s 2-1 home defeat to Liverpool in the fourth round of the Carling Cup.
The Potters boss initially expressed his disappointment at the decision of the FA and requested written reasons, and has now decided to lodge an appeal against the penalty.
“Tony Pulis has today confirmed that he will be appealing against the penalty handed out by the Football Association following a charge of improper conduct,” read a statement on the club’s official website.
Pulis said: “The disappointing and hurtful thing about this judgement is that I have been a manager for almost 800 games and this is the first time I’ve ever had a charge brought against me.
“I find the severity of the punishment difficult to take in those circumstances.”
